What To Expect
Before your first appointment, you will be asked to complete intake and consent forms. You will be asked to bring these forms as well as any available laboratory or diagnostic results from your medical doctor and/or specialist to the first appointment.
The first appointment is approximately 90 minutes long or 60 minutes in the case of pediatric patients. It includes an extensive medical history interview, a relevant physical examination and possibly a Chinese tongue and pulse diagnosis. Physical, mental, emotional and spiritual causes, as well as any contributing factors in lifestyle, habits and attitudes are considered. If further specialized testing is required, it will be suggested at this time. The primary aim is to gain a thorough understanding of your condition in order to facilitate the development of a personalized treatment plan. Patient input is considered in the creation of the treatment plan.
Follow-up appointments are typically 30 to 60 minutes long and involve monitoring and adjusting the treatment plan. Quarterly to yearly appointments are recommended for overall health maintenance. Follow-up phone consults for acute concerns are available.
