Herbal medicine doesn’t have to bust your budget. Even if you don’t like the idea of sipping medicinal tea or drinking your herbs, you can still craft your own herbal anti-inflammatory capsules. Here’s how. Herbal anti-inflammatory capsules

Get yourself a capsule maker. I use one that fits ’00’ size capsules. Follow the instructions provided with your capsule maker and place the bottom half of your capsules in all the holes. Put the smaller capsule caps in a bowl for later.

Capsule maker

Fill the capsules with your anti-inflammatory herbal powder mix.

Capsule filling

Push the powder back and forth over the capsules with a plastic card (comes with most capsule makers) or any credit card, gift card, or the like. Tamp down the powder with the tamper portion of your capsule maker.

Keep filling and tamping and filling and tamping until you can’t fill them anymore.  Turn the tabs to lower the platform and put the caps on all the capsules.

Putting the tops on the capsules

Makes around 50 size ’00’ capsules.

  • 2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 4 tsp ground ginger
  • 8 tsp turmeric

**These capsules are best absorbed when taken with food.  Each ’00’ capsule holds about 700 mg of powder.  Caution when using these herbs if you have a history of acid reflux, gallstones, or if you are taking medications, especially blood thinners or drugs to reduce stomach acid.  Always consult with a knowledgeable health professional before taking herbal medicine.
